The choice of Law as a career option has grown many folds in recent years. We all know different fields it offer; criminal, judicial, corporate etc. It has become a profession driven from passion to make a change in society. For thousands of aspiring candidates every year various universities conduct both National and State level entrance tests for admission in Law courses.

 

1. CLAT- COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST will be conducted by NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, Odisha, Cuttack.

ELIGIBILITY: NO UPPER AGE LIMIT

  • 10+2, 45% marks or equivalent in lass 12th exams for candidates belonging to General/OBC/PwD/NRI categories
  • 40% marks required in class 12th for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
  • Result of qualifying exam i.e., 10+2 shall be submitted at the time of admission.

2. LSAT- Pearson VUE conducts this exam on behalf of Law school Admission council every year.

  • ELIGIBILITY: For B.A.LLB, the candidate needs to pass 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised board. With 45% marks
  • For LLB course the candidates require a Bachelor’s degree with 45% marks in qualifying exam.

3. DU LLB- It is a university level exam conducted by Faculty of Law every year.

  • ELIGIBILITY: The candidates need 50% marks in their Graduation degree or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need 40% marks in the qualifying degree.
  • Candidates from OBC/PwD/ categories need minimum of 45% marks in qualifying degree.
  • Candidates from General and OBC categories MUST HAVE UG or PG degree from DELHI UNIVERSITY or nay other Indian or Foreign University or equivalent to the Delhi University.
  • Candidates appearing for final year PG Degree CAN ALSO APPLY for the entrance test.

4. LFAT- Law Faculty Entrance test conducted by the Allahabad University. The university offers a 5 year programme for B.A. LLB (HONS).

EXAM MODE: WRITTEN

  • ELIGIBILITY: 10+2 recognised by the Admission Committee of the university or Bar Council of India.
  • Candidates form General category require 45% marks in class 12th
  • Candidates from OBC category require 42% marks in class 12th
  • Candidates form SC/ST category require 40% marks in class 12th

6. CUCET- It is a National level exam regulated by 10 central universities jointly.

EXAM MODE: WRITTEN

ELIGIBILITY: 10+2 or equivalent from any recognised board or university. With Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology as subjects.

  • Candidates belonging to general category require 50% marks in class 12th
  • Candidates belonging to SC/St categories require 45% marks in class 12th
  • For PG DEGREE, the General category candidates require 55% marks.
  • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories require 50% marks.

10.AILET- All lndia Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law faculty, Delhi; for admission in B.A. LLB (Hons) (80 Seats), LLM (80seats) and Ph.D. (8Seats).

EXAM MODE: WRITTEN

  • ELIGIBILITY: For 5 year integrated programme candidates need minimum of 50% marks in class 12th
  • For LLM, candidates must have LLB degree or equivalent with 55% aggregate for General category candidates, for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories the minimum aggregate is 50%.
  • Candidates who are in the last year of LLB degree can also apply for AILET 2019.
  • For Ph.D. candidates must hold LLM degree with 55% marks or equivalent for General category candidates and 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.

11.AMU BA LLB- It is a state level entrance test conducted by Aligarh Muslim University for admission in B.A LLB under graduate programme.

  • Bridge Course (for candidates if Deeni Madaris) from AMU also require 50% marks.

  • 45% marks for General category candidates and 40% marks for reserved category candidates.
