Careers in hospitality and tourism industry

Imagine a huge tree whose branches are spread in a larger area, bearing lots of fruits. That’s the Hospitality and Tourism industry. Here tree is the Hospitality industry, branches are the different field it covers and the fruits are the career opportunities it offers.


Hospitality and tourism industry are inter connected and together they offer a myriad of job opportunities to grab onto. This industry incorporates several other sectors such as Aviation, Cruise, Hotels, Entertainment, Recreation, Events etc. These above mentioned sectors carry multifarious functions hence provide extensive career opportunities.


According to The Word Travel and Tourism council, the tourism itself generated 9.4% of India’s total GDP in 2017 and supported 8% of its total employment. To accommodate the tourists and travellers any place would require basic facilities of Lodging, transportation and food. With the advancement of transportation methods, emergence of new tourist destinations and excellent marketing techniques people are travelling not only within the country but different parts of the world. People have started planning weekend getaways to relax, recreate and de-stress from the monotonous everyday lifestyle. Growth of tourist activities is directly proportional to increase in hospitality industry.

   • Need to give a written exam which contains questions from subjects like Maths, Physics, English and Reasoning. Questions are asked from class 12th level.

o  EXAMINATION- Consists of 3 tests: 1. Swimming Test 2. CPR Test 3. Rescue Test
After passing these 3 tests the candidate will qualify for the Basic Certification.
