What is Ethical Hacking?


Ethical hacking is penetrating into a computer systems and networks through consensual, authorised, systematic legitimate ways to find security vulnerabilities that might have been caused due to an illegal hacking activity.

Ethical hackers are used by organisations to infiltrate their computer systems of any discrepancies, loopholes or dangers to sensitive information.

They work towards finding the faults and identifying the areas of problem to make systems to make them secure from future threats.

Ethical hacking is a legal version of hacking.



  • To Formulate ways of protecting data and information of an organisation
  • To Check vulnerabilities within a computer system
  • To Remain up-to-date with latest research work and technologies and try to incorporate them in your work
  • To conduct evaluations to identify problems in computer systems
  • To have a thorough knowledge of computer and its systems.
  • To protect computer networks from illegal intrusions from illegal penetrations that try to access private information.
  • As a part of security team an Ethical Hacker should make sure that the systems are firewalled, sensitive files are encrypted and security protocols are placed.
  • Communicate with clients and deliver written reports of the completed work.
  • Simulate breached to network security of an organisation and take measures to detect potential areas of risk.


  • 10+2 from any recognised board, with Maths and Physics as main subjects.
  • Eligibility criteria may vary from institute to institute
  • Basic knowledge of Computer is must, a diploma or degree before joining nay course in this field will be beneficial.
  • The candidate must have an advanced Diploma in network security or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (B.Sc., IT, Computer, Engineering etc.)
  • A candidate needs to have extensive experience in the area of network security and must have a vast knowledge of different operating systems.
  • After 10+ 2 students can apply for different diploma and degree courses although some universities take admissions on the basis of JOINT ENTRANCE EXAM (JEE).
